Green Moong Sundal/Pachai Payaru Sundal


  1. Whole green Moong Dal/Pachai Payaru-1cup
  2. Onion-1/2 medium chopped
  3. Red chilly-2
  4. Mustard-1teaspoon
  5. Channa dal-1teaspoon
  6. Urad dal-1/2 teaspoon
  7. Turmeric powder/Salt-as required
  8. Oil-1teaspoon
  9. Cilantro-few
  10. Coconut-2teaspoon (shredded)
Soak whole moong in water for overnight.Pressure cook with little bit of salt and turmeric powder.

  1. Heat oil in pan,splutter mustard,curry leaves
  2. Roast channa dal,Urad dal,red chilly.
  3. Add onion fry till get tender.add turmeric powder,salt
  4. Now add cooked Moond dal,shredded coconut and mix well.
  5. Garnish with cilantro. Ready to serve.

For more spicy you can add red chilly powder too.But using green chilly is difficult to find while eating,so avoid it for kids.Can make all type of sundal in this way too.
